The WCCF is dedicated to the education and well being of the community of El Paso, Texas and is looking to expand it's efforts to the rest of West Texas.  The Foundation is proposing a multipurpose complex where kids in the 3rd through the 6th grades will learn the fundamentals of sportsmanship.  Young people in the 7th through 12th grades can develop physical and academic skills.

The proposed complex will house a main gym and ancillary gyms.  Included are a Vocational Learning Center, Outdoor Playing field, an Olympic-sized Swimming Pool as well as a Baseball Park with Track and Field capabilities, along with facilities for Football, Basketball, Bowling, Inline Skating, Karate, and Archery.

Students will also enhance their academic skills by training in a variety of trades including Automobile Mechanics, Electrical and Computer Technology, Music, Fire Fighting, Medical, Criminal Justice, and assistive technologies.

Approximately 200 acres of land on which the WCCF is proposing to build the complex is located east of El Paso.

Expenses associated with the construction of the facility are expected to exceed $620 million dollars.  Learn more...

TUTORIALS - A year-round tutoring program will be offered to all students in grades five through twelve. College students will act as mentors, assisting students in such sports as basketball, football, bowling, and golf on a one-on-one and a team basis. The mentors must have athletic and academic qualifications to show that the two are compatible.

SCHOLARSHIPS - College and vocational school scholarships and grants will be actively sought and awarded to the program participants.

SUMMER CAMPS - Three summer camps of three weeks each will be offered, with the Foundation providing a comprehensive program that will co-exist with regular activities already in place.

SPECIAL PROGRAMS - Special sports tournaments, such as the International Basketball Congress for area high school seniors will be coordinated and implemented. The Foundation also envisions combining with the Special Olympics organizations for various events.
